Forklift Operator

Programmed Skilled Workforce is a leading provider of staffing services. Our people are employed on a casual basis across a wide range of industries.

Our client is the leading brand of plasterboard in Australia, and they are looking for experienced forklift drivers to join their well-established team on a casual basis located in Bayswater North. Our client is currently seeking day shift employees to commence 6am starts Monday-Friday.

This role will involve operating the counterbalance forklift loading plaster sheets of different lengths onto trucks for pick up. The forklift will have a spreader bar attachment which allows the operator to pick up 6 meter long

plaster boards. The role will also involve assisting tradespeople that come in with their orders for pick up and picking orders as required.

Do you have a trades background or have you worked in a similar workplace like Bowens etc.? Or do you have experience with the spreader bar attachment? If so, you might be found a great fit for the role!

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent communication and customer service to customers (trades people) coming through the store
• Loading utes, trailers and truck with customers orders either manually by hand or with the counterbalance forklift
• Operating the counterbalance forklift to move plaster boards around store
• Operating Tugger
• Picking with paper slips
• Moving 20kgs bags & buckets of plaster and product around the store
• Moving 25kg long plaster boards in a two person lift
• Being punctual and arriving prior to 6am everyday for a 6am start

To be considered for this role, you MUST:

• Have at least 12 months counterbalance forklift driving experience with a valid LF licence
• Have a strong work ethic and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Great attitude, communication skills and initiative skills
• Physically fit to lift to 25kg when required
• Have reliable transport
• Happy to work 80% Forklfit driving and 20% Manual handling/Customer service/Tugger operation
• Available to work on day shift 6am-3pm Monday-Friday
• Able to pass a Pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol
